Many of the "dementia cafes" operated throughout Japan are called "orange cafes." In Japan, orange is the color associated with dementia support. Orange is the image color of the "One Million Dementia Supporters Caravan," and the dementia measures launched by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare are called the "Orange Plan" and the "New Orange Plan" (both commonly known as the "Orange Plan"). The Japanese Dementia Support Association also uses that name.

Why is the character of "Orange Cafe" a chameleon?2021-05-20T06:56:32-08:00

Symptoms of dementia change little by little and can change throughout the day. As the symptoms change, the responses of those around you will also change. The hint for the character was born with this keyword of "change". Just as a chameleon "changes" its body color to suit its surroundings, we aim to be an organization that can adapt to changes and flexibly support those affected by dementia.
